General Manager’s Report
By Larrane Hartridge
While writing this report we are in the middle of our final shelving reset. We have staff working overnight to tear down old shelving, build new shelving and re-stock all of our products. The response from everyone when the final phase wall came down was very positive. By the time you read this newsletter, things should have settled down quite a bit, but work will continue over the next couple of months as all the finishing touches get completed.
All aisle and department signage will be installed soon. As part of our lease agreement we have had the parking lot repaved and our long-overdue roof re-done. Exterior painting will commence once the roof is complete, then we will install our new exterior sign. We are making do with our old deli tables and chairs until everything is completed. Once the exterior painting is complete, we will add outdoor seating and a shopping cart corral. Over the next few weeks our new deli will be fully operational with an expanded menu (see page 6).
New product lines will be appearing steadily, so keep your eyes open for lots of new goodies. Our wine and cheese department has had a wonderful overhaul by Brandon Chaplin and Bob Williamson. Come sample some wonderful wine and cheese every Friday evening through November and December.
We would have never gotten through this transformation without the dedication to its success from all of our staff and, of course, the many other folks mentioned in Cristin’s article of page 5. Thank you one and all.
