Discover The Local Microbrews In Tallahassee, FL

Have you ever wondered what the differences between microbrews and regular breweries are?  As the name suggests, microbrews are much smaller. In fact, that is the main distinction between the two. However, microbrews tend to be more exciting as you explore new styles of beer. Whether you are looking for beers that are seasonal or new flavors, microbrews offer you a chance to step away from the large commercial breweries and try something different.

At this point, you may be wondering exactly how small a microbrewery must be to be considered a microbrewery. A microbrewery may not produce more than 15,000 barrels of beer a year. If they do, they lose their classification of a microbrew. Sometimes, certain specialty or “boutique beers” will gain such popularity that they get picked up by larger distributors.  When this happens, they are sometimes known as craft beers.

MicrobreweryDue to the nature of microbreweries, they are limited in their exposure and distribution.  Sometimes, these microbreweries will have a small restaurant or pub attached so people can get to know the local brews.  Beer aficionados tend to enjoy local beer festivals where all kinds of microbrews can be explored in one convenient location.

If you have ever visited a microbrewery around the Tallahassee area, you will notice some common attributes amongst the microbreweries. You will notice the sense of community in the atmosphere at each brewery. From the labor and ingredients, right down to the final batch, you know you are getting a quality beer from brewers who care.  These local breweries enjoy promoting local business and enhancing the communities by putting in a lot of time and effort into their work.
