Wine & Beer Feature
Natural Times January/February 2009

Made a New Year’s resolution to try new things? How about beer and wine? With our recently expanded selection you will have a lot to try! Here are some my favorites that we have in the store.
McManis Petite Syrah: This is an incredible wine for the price. It is medium bodied and rich with blackberry flavor. It is extremely pleasing to the palate and is a nice complement to mozzarella cheese and crackers
Elyse Le Corbeau: I can only describe this wine with one word: exceptional! It has an incredible bouquet of jasmine and lilacs and is a blend of 90% Grenache and 10% Syrah. This wine is truly a treat and worthy of drinking by itself.
I am not a beer connoisseur, like Bob Williamson our assistant specialty manager, but I have had the pleasure of trying a couple beers that he has picked out and I am very impressed with the depth of his knowledge.
Ommegang Three Philosophers Belgian Style Ale: This beer has the complexity of a great Bordeaux. It is made with 98% ale and 2% cherry lambic. The lambic imparts undertones of chocolate and coffee that make it an incredibly unique ale.
Lagunitas Maximus Indian Pale Ale: One of my favorites, this beer has the most incredible nose, and is very floral. It is a very light beer and perfect for pairing with potato chips or pizza.
