This talk will address the importance of our personality type. Jung addressed these systems through his explanation of attitude (introversion & extroversion) and function (intuitive, thinking, feeling, & sensate) types. These are the specific systems that we use to orient to the world and to process information that comes to us from the world. Each personality type has its own worldview. Our understanding of these various perspectives is critical to comprehending what others are trying to communicate to us. These insights are critical to forming close relationships.
Permaculture
Thursday, September 30 - 7:45-8:45 pm - FREE!
Inspired by three decades of studying and practicing the “wholistic” system of Chinese Medicine, Anna Lee turned her attention to the study of Permaculture. Two years ago, Anna, using the wholistic concepts of Permaculture, began intensively building an edible landscape she calls LuLuLand.
Permaculture is more than an agricultural system as in permanent agriculture. It is a concept about cultural systems and finding our way back to a harmonious existence. Permaculture speaks to a way of thinking about, living in, and designing the spaces we occupy. It challenges us to rethink our assumptions, our consumption, and our relationship to all things of this world. The Core Principles of Permaculture are Earth Care, People Care, and Fair Share. Come join in our discussion of moving toward a wholistic way of living.
Aging & Vitality Symposium
Saturday, October 9 - 9:00 am-4:30 pm
Location: United Church of Tallahassee
1834 Mahan Drive
Tallahassee, FL 32308
Registration fee: $33/person. Seating is limited
This symposium on the rapidly evolving, positive paradigm for aging and vitality brings the best leading edge information from Duke University’s Integrative Medicine Center and other sources to our local community. Join us Saturday, October 9 to learn how to flourish as you mature! This symposium is for Boomers, people with an aging parent or loved one in their lives, and people of any age who are enthusiastic about making a positive shift in the way our society perceives and experiences aging.
The Aging and Vitality symposium will include:
- The medical facts and science behind aging. It’s NOT what you think! Decline and deterioration are not a natural or inevitable part of the aging process.
- The positive psychology of flourishing as you mature. Identify the positive purpose and meaning of maturity—the strengths, gifts and positive possibilities of this wonderful and powerful stage of our lives. The Chinese culture believes that life begins at 60 and that you enter a whole new dynamic stage of your life as you become an elder.
- The science of positive lifestyle changes using the Renaissance Model for Aging.
Each person attending will leave with the information to create the best stage of their life as they mature and an individualized mini action plan. A locally grown, organic feast will be provided for lunch. Space is limited, pre-registration is required.
Co-sponsored by New Leaf Market and Pamela Chamberlynn, MSW, Owner of Integrative Healthcare Case Management Services and Consulting
